I was absolutely thrilled to be one of the few agents on-board MSC Magnifica on her maiden visit to New Zealand on her World cruise. Mainly based in the Mediterranean, she's very reasonably priced with spacious cabins and tasteful public spaces. Lots of areas to spread out and explore – as well as relax!
There's plenty of choice for your stomach - with five gourmet restaurants serving food from around the world, and 12 designer-themed bars. Kids and teens will love their own themed venues and special clubs that are perfect to help break the ice with new friends.
The ship’s MSC Aurea Spa brings you traditional Balinese massages and ultramodern beauty treatments: a sauna, Turkish bath, fitness centre, thalassotherapy room and relaxation area.
The leisure facilities include a lush open-air-pool complex, four whirlpools, a solarium and a skylit indoor pool with Magrodome retractable roof so that it can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Plus, there's tennis, minigolf, bowling, a high-tech gym and dedicated jogging track.
And the entertainment continues into the evening, with a casino, panoramic discotheque, 4D cinema, Internet café, 1,200 seat theatre and live entertainment in the bar lounges.
Highlights
- Bowling alley – for something different!
- Indoor Pool with roof they can retract - wonderful!
- Keen to have a look - head this way for a virtual tour!

Here's my top 3 reasons why I love cruising:
Convenience: Unpack once... yet still have a variety of experiences as you travel between ports.
Value: Meals and most on board sports and activities are included in the cost of your cruise.. that makes it easy to budget for those extras such as alcoholic drinks (some luxury cruise ships do include alcoholic drinks - just ask me about this!), dining at alternative restaurants, spa treatments and onshore excursions.
Ocean View: Enjoy the view, lay out on the deck or stargaze whenever you want!
