Authorities in Hong Kong have issued the most severe typhoon warning, as an intensifying severe typhoon has come closer to the financial hub, grounding some flights and forcing the port to close.

Air New Zealand Increase Card Payment Fee

Air New Zealand have today advised APX that effective for all new bookings made on/after 24 May 2011 increases will apply to the Card Payment Fee (CPF) for each adult and child in a booking (excluding infants) where any tickets are paid for by credit, debit or charge card.

Jetstar Introduce New Fare Structure

APX has been advised by Jetstar that changes have been made to their fare structure to support their evolving business model. JetSaver Light, JetSaver, JetFlex, and StarClass fares will no longer be available for booking and are replaced by the following range of new fares and bundles.

Icelandic Ash Cloud Disrupts Travel

Flights in and out of Scotland have been cancelled as a volcanic ash cloud from Iceland heads towards the UK. BA, KLM, Easyjet, Flybe, Loganair and Eastern Airways have cancelled services on Tuesday (GMT), and some flights over the Atlantic are reported to be delayed.

A number of hotels in Christchurch are closed or taking emergency bookings only while the damage is assessed. We have pulled hotel reports to ensure we know which travellers are booked into Christchurch accommodation, and so that we can move bookings where hotels are not structurally sound to alternative locations.
